The City of Omaha has conducted an Environmental Review per HUD regulations set forward in 24 CFR Subpart 58 for new construction projects planned at 3333 Miami Street and 1420 Villa Rows Court. The review requires a public comment period. The comment period for these environmental reviews is open from today, March 25, 2021 to April 9, 2021. The City is reaching out to you because you are listed as the contact for your neighborhood, which is located near one of these sites. We would appreciate your help in letting others in your neighborhood know about this public comment period. Attached to this email is a copy of the notice that ran today in the Omaha World Herald.
At each of these sites, Holy Name Housing plans to build row homes that will be utilized in their CROWN Rent to Own program. This program provides rental housing for low and very low income households. Seven row homes will be built at 3333 Miami Street and 16 will be built at 1420 Villa Rows Ct (15th and Spring Streets). Additional project information is contained in the Environmental Review Record (ERR) on file at the City of Omaha Planning Department, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska, 11th Floor and may be examined or copied weekdays 8 A.M to 4 P.M. It is also available to view and print from the City of Omaha’s website at https://planninghcd.cityofomaha.org.
This comment period does not address general objections to the project. This project was included in the public hearing and comment period in January, 2020. This comment period is specifically for comments on the environmental review. The review gives residents information about the environmental impact of a project as well as the impact that the environment may have on residents at the project site. Feedback from you and your neighbors assists the City in identifying any sources of environmental concern that may have been overlooked as well as giving residents an opportunity to express opposition to the City’s findings.
