Good morning,
The City of Omaha's Community Development Division has completed a HUD-mandated environmental review for Phase II of the Victory Apartments at 10th and Dorcas Street. While the neighborhood is likely already familiar with this project, as Phase I has operated since around 2012, this project will add an additional 60 units of housing for low-income veterans in a currently vacant building on the same campus. This project required a review because rent for residents of this project will be supported by the Omaha Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Vouchers. It will be redeveloped, owned, and operated by Burlington Capital Real Estate.
I am requesting the neighborhood association’s assistance in distributing this document to any neighbors who may be interested in reviewing and commenting on the document.
This document addresses the suitability of the environment for this activity, assuring that the project will not negatively impact human health or the environment. Comments on the environmental review can be sent to hcdcomments@cityofomaha.org and questions can be directed to me at 402-444-5150 x2024 or nicole.engels@cityofomaha.org. The comment period ends on October 29 at 4:00 PM.
